OUR STORY

11th Generation Family-Owned Farm in East Hampton, NY

The Dayton family has lived in East Hampton, NY since 1648 and was among the earliest families to settle in the area. Farming & living on the same land since those early days, we have continuously strived to provide a throughline from past to present and to maintain our agricultural heritage.

In 1988, our farm was designated a National Bicentennial Farm. This honor is given only to farms that have been in continuous operation by the same family for two hundred years or more.

ABOUT DAYTON FARMS

The original Dayton Farm Stand was a mobile farm wagon that sat on the corner of Dayton and Toilsome Lanes, about two miles from our current location. In the 1990s, we pivoted away from vegetables for a time and focused exclusively on fresh cut flowers. Our field bloomed all summer with a variety of gladiolus, verbena, ageratum, dahlias, cosmos, and sunflowers among so many others.

In 2003, the opportunity arrived to expand and Dayton Farm Stand moved to a permanent structure at our current location on the corner of Stephen Hands Path and Rte. 114. Here, we open every year around July 4th and remain so through Thanksgiving, selling seasonal vegetables, fruit, baked goods, and local specialty foods.

Each December, you can find an assortment of Christmas trees, wreaths, and garland at our stand, ready for selection to bring home to decorate.
